About the Artist
Paul Moreau (b. 1986) is an active oil painter living in New Hampshire who is known for his landscape paintings as well as his portrait and figure work.
Paul is self-taught, and grew up drawing and enjoying art from a very early age. In 2015, he started on his first painting commission, and by 2020 was painting full-time and finding the nuance in his technique during all waking hours.
Building on a strong foundation in realism, Paul's work is embellished throughout with opaline tones laid in a bed of richly-textured paint. Color and value control are critical in what he views as an endless quest to create a better illusion. At the heart of every piece, his proclivity with detail shines brightly as each painting is afforded a lifelike and tangible datum to tie the composition together; tranquil cohesion encompassed in a sea of movement.
Paul is co-owner of The Galleries At 30 Main in Meredith, NH and has been displaying and selling paintings there since 2018.
